Children earn buck-a roos for turning in homework on time and having papers signed. We have a special snack on Friday for all who qualify for this special treat.

  13. What if my child loses math homework? • There is still hope: Remember this: • Go to my website, Math, Houghton Mifflin, Pick the unit we are on, • Leveled practice, (which is the homework) • Look through until you find the assigned page. http://mysite.cherokee.k12.ga.us/personal/barbara_garmon/site/pages/Math.aspx

  14. Accelerated Reader • I want all the child to be the best reader he/she can be. To be a good reader, you have to read! Each quarter the children will have a goal to meet. At the end of the quarter, we have a special celebration for all children who meet his/her goal. • . Looking for an AR Book? • Go to AME Media Center • http://www.cherokee.k12.ga.us/Schools/arnoldmill-es/media/default.aspx If the book is not AR, you may go to Book Adventure to take a comprehension test or your child may write a book report on the book. I will assign points to go toward AR goal.

  15. What is PBIS? This stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. • School wide expectations are: • A- Acting Responsibly • M Making Good Choices • E- Exhibiting Safe Behavior • S- Showing Respect When students are “caught” going above and beyond these characteristics then they are rewarded with a Buckaroo! See flyer on desk for more information.

  16. Behavior Book • When students do not follow the rules, they are given a yellow warning card. At some point duirng the day they will come and discuss the unacceptable behavior. • If the behavior continues, they will receive a red card and will have to write the incredibly long paragraph on how to behave at school which has to be signed by parents.
