  2. Saying what you think and giving opinions in Japanese • When you say what you think or give an opinion in Japanese, you use the verb 思(おも)います. • The sentence pattern is given below: Opinion in the plain form +と思います。

  3. Subtle differences in meaning: Opinion in the plain form +と思います。 (I generally think) Opinion in the plain form +と思っています。 ( I think (at the moment)) Opinion in the plain form +と思いました。 (I thought)

  4. Using 思う with な adjectives and nouns • Sentence pattern: なadj/nounだと思う。 E.g. ブラッド・ピットはハンソムな人だと思う。 E.g. ブラッド・ピットは有名(ゆうめい)だと思う。 E.g. 漢字が簡単(かんたん)だと思う。 E.g. スピーキング・テストは一番下手だと思う。
