  1. STEERING COMMITTEE IEC-ILAC-IAF Shanghai 2010-10-23 Item 6.2 IEC-ILAC-IAF/1005/DEC SUBJECT: Perspective of the “Joint Re-assessments model” and the new “unified Re-Assessment” model POTENTIAL OUTCOME OF NEW CONCEPT: The Joint Re-assessment model was the starting point of the collaboration between ILAC and IEC CA Systems followed by the same model with IAF.Although this model was a great step onward by the time it has shown its weakness essentially due to the lack of efficiency in the constitution of the Assessment Team with two different Lead Assessors and two different Assessment Reports. The new Model, today identified as the “Unified Re-assessment” is a major step ahead as it really constitute an assessment aiming at to represent the “Parties” with a real pragmatic and efficient approach. ACTION: The Steering Committee to note, reiterate support and agree on improvements that are deemed necessary.
