Will God Forgive Me?

Will God Forgive Me?. The unpardonable sin. The unpardonable sin. “Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter; but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness , but is guilty of an eternal sin“— (Mark 3:28-29).

  1. Will God Forgive Me?

  2. The unpardonable sin

  3. The unpardonable sin • “Truly I say to you, all sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they utter; but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin“— (Mark 3:28-29)

  4. For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God, and put Him to open shame. (Hebrews 6:4-6) There is a point of no return!

  5. God’s response to an angry child

  6. Job's wife succumbed to the frustration, confusion, and doubt urging her husband to "curse God and die" (Job 1:9). • Even Job, who did not sin in the face of the difficulties, responded to his friends with not only charges of his innocence, but with statements that appear to indict God's rule of the world.

  7. Yet in spite of these things, God did not give up on them but made known to them His glory so that they could find their way through the doubt and confusion they had experienced. In addition, he restored to them all that had been lost, an evidence of His forgiveness of their rash statements.

  8. “Now suppose one of you fathers is asked by his son for a fish; he will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he? “Or if he is asked for an egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he? “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?” (Luke 11:11-13) Is our love greater than God’s?

  9. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him, and felt compassion for him, and ran and embraced him, and kissed him. (Lk. 15:20)

  10. Applications • For this reason I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day. (2 Timothy 1:12) • “Though He slay me, I will hope in Him. (Job 13:15)
