  3. The ProcessGreeting Sets the tone for the meeting • Greeter is warmly professional • May use positive anecdotes about the student • May use humor when appropriate • May discuss shared interests

  4. The ProcessIntroductions • Put names with faces (name cards) • What name people want to be called • Explain why person is attending • Explain meeting roles • Explain use of “equipment” • Set a collaborative feeling • Put parent(s) at ease

  5. The ProcessAgenda Review • Does the agenda include all issues? • Make timing decisions • List items by priority

The ProcessGround Rules • Begins a collaborative process bycollaborating • Encourages participation by all members • Creates a respectful & considerate atmosphere • Provides boundaries (& limits) for participation • Provides guidelines for refocusing the group • Confirms/clarifies expectations of members • May be adjusted as necessary
