  1. The best ways to quit smoking

  2. Smoking is one of the worst things you can do to yourself. You deteriorate your health and accelerate you way towards death. Cigarettes are responsible for more than 4.9 million deaths every year. But it is not only about health.

  3. It is also that nobody likes smokers. There is hardly any person in this world who would want to get anywhere near a smoker. Considering all this, it becomes very hard to understand why some people like to smoke. Well, some of those people are the one who started it unwillingly and are now stuck with it. They want to quit but are not able.

  4. If you are one of them, the first thing that you should know is that quitting is hard but possible. Some of the ways that can help you are mentioned below.

  5. Consult a doctor: The first thing, after you decide to quit smoking, is to go to your doctor. It is imperative to understand all the things you are going to experience while quitting. By knowing about them, you will be able to prepare yourself. Your doctor might also be able to prescribe some medicine that can help.

  6. If not medicine then your doctor will at least be able to suggest some good nicotine chewing gums or nicotine patches to help you out.

  7. Join a support group: Too many people, support groups sound lame. Those are just the people who have never tried it. Those who have appreciate the concept and try to publicise its benefits. By joining a support group, you get to meet some people who have already experienced the things that you are going through or will in the future.

  8. You will know about the different stages of quitting and also about the right ways to keep yourself on the track. In some support groups, you even get a sponsor, which is like having a coach. It is not necessary that you are starting sharing your feeling from the first day. Initially you can just listen and observe, and as you get comfortable you can start sharing.

  9. Switch to e-cigs: Electronic cigarettes (e-cigs) are an excellent and efficient way of quitting. Cigarettes produce smoke of tobacco, which is very harmful, but e-cigs produce vapours of nicotine. The nicotine comes from the liquid, called liquid, which can be filled and refilled as many times as you want.

  10. It comes in many different flavours. This gives vaping (using e-cigs) some taste, unlike cigarettes whose taste is rubbish. You also get different nicotine levels in eliquids.

  11. If you are a heavy smoker, you can start with high nicotine levels and if you are the light smoker then you can start with medium nicotine level. Either way, your ultimate aim should be to get to zero nicotine.

  12. Take a hobby: While quitting you will get a repeated temptation to smoke. Sometimes this temptation gets too strong. At that time, have something to get your mind off it is very helpful. So get a new hobby, or something which interest you.
