  1. Trig TT21 Class 2 Mode S Transponder

  2. The Trig TT21 is a two part transponder system, which includes an integrated altitude encoder. In design and technology it is equivalent to the TT22, however, the transmitted output power of the TT21 is lower, qualifying the unit as a Class 2 transponder.

  3. Class 2 transponders are suitable for aircraft cruising slower than 175 knots, and operating below 15,000 feet, VFR or IFR.

  4. If you NEVER exceed these limits either because the aircraft isn't capable or because you set these limits as an operating limitation, then you can use the less expensive model, the TT21.

  5. But if you want to have the option to go above 15K or faster than 175 knots, you need the more expensive one.

  6. Low Weight - less than 500 grams! Minimal Panel Space Low Power Consumption 130 Watts Nominal Output Integrated Altitude Encoder Simple Installation

  7. Support for 1090ES ADS-B Out The TT21 can be mounted in a standard 57 mm (2¼ inch) instrument hole, or where space is really tight, in a compact mounting just 42 mm high.

  8. The TT21 is TSO approved for fitting to European and FAA registered aircraft. FREE wiring harness and programming on request*
