  1. How To Start An Ayurvedic Hair And Skin Care Routine ?

  2. Ayurveda in Sanskrit means the science of living. In Ayurveda it is believed that the world is made up of 5 elements – Earth, water, fire, wind, and ether. The combinations of the elements are known as Dosha which is categorized into Vatta, Pitta, and Kapha.

  3. The Vatta, Pitta, and Kapha should be evaluated and the imbalance in Dosha should be predicted before starting the skin and hair care regimen. Vata is made up of ether and air, Pitta is made up of fire and water, and Kapha is made up of water and earth. Every individual is different with a different body and skin type. No two individuals can follow the same skincare routine.

  4. Vata Thin, dry, cool to touch, delicate, rough, flaky, wrinkled, greying or dull, eczema and skin irritations. Brittle or thin hair. Since the skin will be dry and rough it is essential to retain the moisture content. To nourish the skin organic milk, leafy vegetables and whole grains should be added in the diet. Intake of luck warm water and oil massages should be included in the routine. Usage of gentle daily moisturizer will help in healing the skin. Sesame oil and sweet almond oil can be used in massaging the hair and scalp. Anti-dandruff oil can be used for the itchy scalp.

  5. Pitta Rosy in colour, warm, skin rashes, acne, sensitive skin, hyperpigmentation. Since Pitta is a sensitive skin type spicy and deep-fried food should be excluded from the diet. Cooling milk and juicy fruits should be added in the everyday diet. Mild moisturizing cream and lotion can be used in the skin. Pitta hair requires gentle massaging with cooling oils like pure coconut oil and amla oil.

  6. Kapha Thicker skin, smooth, cool to touch, oily, pale skin, blackheads, pimples, water retention, delayed aged look. Dense and thick hair growth. For Kapha skin types cleansing the impurity is important. Due to the excess oiliness, the pores will be blocked.Healthy vegetables should be included in the diet and deep-fried oily food should be avoided. Using scrubs and an exfoliating mask will clean the skin. The scalp can be massaged using warm oil and anti-dandruff, herbal cleansers and shampoos can be used in the hair.
