Festivals: here & there… • *A music festival is a gathering usually oriented towards music, often with other themes. • *These festivals don’t just have music, there are many various other activities. • *There are many different types of festivals, that range from different kinds of music to different causes. • *Many of these are annual (every year) or every other year, although some happen only once.

  3. Different themes, types, etc. • Themes: • -Nationality • -Locality (local musicians) • *i. e. Festival in the pines • Types: • -Rock • -Country • -Bluegrass/ jam band • -Reggae & world music • -Jazz/Blues • -Alternative

  4. Other activities • -Sports tournaments (i.e. Frisbee golf) • -Various vendors: food, merchandise, etc. • -Performance arts • -Swimming-most festivals are held during the summer, outdoors.

  5. Causes • -Some festivals are just for fun, and others are held to help other. • -Many are fundraisers. Some that aren’t will also participate by having a food drive, or something of the sort.

  6.
