  1. Skills Assessment Paralympic Volleyball

  2. Purpose The purpose of the skills test is to test the students ability to seat on their buttocks while serving a ball over handed over a net.

  3. Scoring Sheet

  4. Instructions • Students were to sit side by side in their personal space. • They had to have both “cheeks” on the ground at all times. • They were allowed to put their legs and feet anywhere that was comfortable and gave them enough balance to hit the ball. • The ball had to completely go over the net. • Three serves were given per person.

  5. Refinement • Students that are injured or having trouble hitting the ball over the net were able to take a few scoots closer to the net.

  6. Scoring Criteria • Put a check mark under always, sometimes, or never column for each listed criteria. • Points are added and multiplied by ten to get total score.

  7. Grades • Zach Blatt - 100 • Ryan Carley-100 • Myers Dean-100 • J.B. Edgar-100 • Zach Esden-100 • Chris Hawkins-100 • John Jones-100 • Justin Malone-100 • Kayla Mcknight-100 • Kelly Mcwhorter-90 • Patrick Shivers-100 • Lakin Spear-100 • Michelle Vaughn-90 • Britney Wis-100

  8. Issues • The main issue that arose was students not being able to hit the ball over the net. • Another issue that arose was the net. The net kept drooping downward. • Weight transfer was a big issue. Some of the students had trouble positioning their selves to get the momentum to hit the ball forward and over the net.
