  1. What is the structure of the IELTS Examination? IELTS Exam is the international standard examination for checking the proficiency level of applicants in the language of English. This examination is mostly given by candidates from the countries where English is not a native language. This test would check the four basic skills related to the English language. This test would assess the listening, reading, speaking and writing skills of the candidate. The sectional test for reading, writing, and listening skill would be taken on the same day. For the speaking test, the candidates would have to wait for a little bit, as the interview might not always be available. Down below you would find brief information regarding every sectional module of the test.

  2. Writing Module Candidates appearing for IELTS test would have to complete this writing module within 60 minutes. The first task of this module would be to write more than 150 words in 20 minutes. For the academic section, the candidate would have to explain a graph, chart, table or a diagram. For the general training section, candidates would be asked to write a letter regarding any everyday situation. The second task would have to complete within 40 minutes. Candidates taking IELTS preparation for the academic section would have to write an essay of 250 words regarding the given topic. For the general training, applicants would be asked to write on a general interest topic.

  3. Reading Module The total time duration for the reading module would be about 60 minutes. There are three sections in this module; each of the modules would contain 2,150 to 2,750 words. Candidates preparing for IELTS Singapore would have to careful regarding the spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. Candidates would face MCQs, short answer questions and other different types of question. For general training section, applicants would be given a passage from either newspaper or magazine. For the academic section, applicants would be given a passage from journals, educational newspapers or resources for non-specialist audiences.

  4. Speaking Module In the speaking section, the candidate would have an interview with the examiner. All candidates who would appear for IELTS exam Singapore would have to give more emphasis on the voice clarity. There are three sections in this examination with total time duration of 12 to 15 minutes. In the first section, candidates would be asked to introduce themselves. He or she would also ask about hobbies and interests of the candidate. For the second section, the candidate would be given a topic to speak for about 4 to 5 minutes.
