  3. Warm Up The Trojan War is an ancient story that is told again and again. Some of you may have heard it, some of you may have not! It is often times used in popular culture to make jokes or references. In the warm up space, list your pre-existing knowledge about the Trojan War!

  4. Key Players Homer, The Poet Credited for telling the story of the Trojan War and writing novels/poems on them, titled the Odyssey and the Iliad

  5. Key Players Thetis Bride to Peleus in the wedding that led to the events of the Trojan war. Did not invite Eris! Peleus Greek Mythology Hero Groom to Thetis and Father to Greek Hero, Achilles

  6. Key Players Aphrodite Olympian Goddess of Love and Beauty. Often accompanied by the Godling, Eros (love) Hera Olympian Queen of the Gods (Zeus). Goddess of Marriage, Women, Sky and Stars. Athena Olympian Goddess of Wisdom, Good Counsel, War, and More. Often shown with a shield

  7. Key Players Eris Goddess of discord, contention, and rivalry. Often seen haunting battlefields. Left off the guest list at Thetis and Peleus’ wedding

  8. Key Players Zeus The King of the Gods God of the sky, weather, law and order, destiny and fate, and kingship. Usually seen with a lightning bolt.

  9. Key Players Paris Son of King Priam in troy. Eloped with Queen Helen causing the Trojan War.

  10. Key Players Menelaus The King of Sparta Husband of beautiful Helen Helen Daughter of Zeus and bride to Menelaus “the face that launched 1000 ships”

  11. Key Players Achilles Greek warrior/hero Hector Prince of Troy Odysseus King of Ithaca

  15. Processing Activity Draw your understanding of the story you were told in the comic strip started on your notes. Box 1 will be the wedding of Thetis and Peleus Box 6 will be the Trojan Horse You fill in the rest!
