  1. Words of Wisdom Tommy's Window Slideshow ♫ Turn on your speakers! CLICK TO ADVANCE SLIDES A potpourri of inspirational thoughts on several topics.

  2. ON LOVE: There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up. To ease another's heartache is to forget one's own. A child's prayer: "Dear God, make all the bad people good, and make all the good people nice." You never so touch the ocean of God's love as when you forgive & love your enemies. --Corrie Ten Boom Love can wait to give; it is lust that can't wait to get. --Josh McDowell Encouragement is like premium gasoline. It helps to take the knock out of living. Duty makes us do things well, but love makes us do them beautifully. A smile of encouragement at the right moment may act like sunlight on a closed-up flower --it may be the turning point for a struggling life. “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love!” 1John 4:8

  3. ON CHRISTIANITY: If your Christianity won't work where you are, it won't work anywhere. Some people treat Christian truth like chewing gum. They will chew it over in discussion for hours, but never swallow it. If you are a Christian, you are not a citizen of this world trying to get to Heaven; you are a citizen of Heaven making your way through this world. God wants spiritual fruit not religious nuts. Blessed are the flexible… for they shall not be bent out of shape. The Christian is called upon to live a supernatural life, & has been given the power to live that life. “If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for My sake, the same shall save it.” Luke 9:23-24

  4. ON GREATNESS: I believe the first test of a truly great man is his humility. The measure of a man's greatness is not the number of servants he has, but the number of people he serves. Weak men wait for opportunities; strong men make them. Great men, like the tallest mountain, retain their majesty & stability during the most severe storm. It takes a great man to give sound advice tactfully, but a greater man to accept it graciously. Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you too can become great. --Mark Twain "But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant.” Matthew 23:11

  5. ON GIVING: When I have any money. I get rid of it as quickly as possible, lest it find a way into my heart. --John Wesley God has a secret method by which He recompenses His saints: He sees to it that they become the prime beneficiaries of their own benefactions! Give not from the top of your purse, but from the bottom of your heart. When it comes to giving until it hurts, most of us have a very low threshold of pain. Some give their mite; some give with all their might; & some who might don't give. “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” Luke 6:38

  6. ON ENTHUSIASM: "Every great movement in the annals of history," said Emerson, "is the triumph of enthusiasm.“ It is derived, that magic name, from two Greek words: "en" meaning "in" & "theos" meaning "God." Enthusiasm is literally "God in us." The enthusiastic man is one who speaks as if he were possessed by God. We rarely support the things we support with the enthusiasm with which we oppose the things we oppose. Enthusiasm is a good engine, but it needs intelligence for a driver. Enthusiasm & persistence can make an average person superior; indifference & lethargy can make a superior person average. Enthusiasm is the all-essential human jet propellant. It is the driving force which elevates men to miracle workers. It begets boldness, courage; kindles confidence; overcomes doubts. It creates endless energy, the source of all accomplishment. “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might” Ecclesiastic 9:10a KJV FEEL FREE TO SHARE THIS SLIDE SHOW WITH YOUR FRIENDS!
