  1. Sept. 11, 2001 Apr. 14, 1912 Are You Ready… For Judgment?

  2. Death Is Coming Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away (Jas. 4:14). What man can live and not see death? Can he deliver his life from the power of the grave? (Ps. 89:48). Man who is born of woman is of few days and full of trouble. He comes forth like a flower and fades away; He flees like a shadow and does not continue (Job 14:1-2). No one has power over the spirit to retain the spirit, and no one has power in the day of death. There is no release from that war, and wickedness will not deliver those who are given to it (Eccl. 8:8). And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment (Heb. 9:27).

  3. Death Is Coming - Psalm 90 9 For all our days have passed away in Your wrath; We finish our years like a sigh. 10 The days of our lives are 70 years; And if by reason of strength they are 80 years, Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away. 11 Who knows the power of Your anger? For as the fear of You, so is Your wrath. 12 So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.

  4. As Death Draws Near One Thing We Want and Cannot Have TIME

  5. If A Christian & Harboring Sin: • Get rid of stolen goods (Eph. 4:28) • Throw away pornography (Gal. 5:19) • Pour out mixed drink--Snuff out cigarette (1 Pet. 4:3) • Put away adulterous mate (Matt. 19:9) • Change clothes (1 Tim. 2:9-10) • Put away idols (Col. 3:5) • Reconcile with a brother (Matt. 5:23-24) • Reconcile with my family (Col. 3:19-21) • Make correction of all sin in my life (1 Tim. 5:24). • Repent (Lk. 13:3) • Be innocent before God (Heb. 4:13)

  6. If I Were Not A Christian: I would obey the gospel (2 Thess. 1:7-9). 7 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power… • Hear the Gospel (Rom. 10:17; Matt. 17:3-5) • Believe in Christ (1 Jn. 3:23; Jn. 6:28-29) • Confess Your Faith in Christ (Rom. 10:9-10) • Repent of Sins (Acts 2:38) • Be Baptized for Remission of Sins (Mk. 16:16; Rom. 6:3-4) • Continue to Walk in His Word (1 Jn. 2:3-6) Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man’s all. For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil (Eccl. 12:13-14).

  7. Meaningless Excuses at Such A Time: • Maybe in a few years (Jas. 4:14). • The church is only after my money (Lk. 14:9). • My parents aren’t members of the Church of Christ (Lk. 16:28). • I just want to sow some wild oats first (Acts 2:38). • It will offend my friends (Jn. 12:42-43). • I can’t live the Christian life (Phil. 4:13; 1 Cor. 10:13). • Too many hypocrites in the church (Mt. 23:29-33). • Don’t have any nice clothes to wear to church (Lk. 14:20). • I just don’t know enough (Jn. 3:3-5; 1 Pet. 2:2). • We can’t understand the Bible alike (Eph. 5:17). • Religion is a crutch for the weak (2 Pet. 1:5).
