  4. Grading: You will earn points for the following types of work: • 30% Homework/Classwork • 40% Assessments: Tests, Projects • 15% Quizzes • 15% Performance Tasks

  5. Daily Routine: • As soon as you walk in: take your calculator. • Get all your Geometry materials and place your backpack by the window wall. • Class begins: the minute the bell rings. • Bell work: emailed as soon as class begins to your calculator • Homework Check (part of homework grade) • Daily Lesson: investigations, discussions, and formula derivations • Assignment • Exit ticket emailed to your calculator.

  6. Homework Assignment: each day you will be given problems to work on

  7. Class Ends: when the bell rings....no sooner, and certainly, no later!!

ASSESSMENTS • Mini Quizzes-weekly (can be retaken at tutoring) • Weekly Quiz grade-Average of weekly Bell Work and Exit Quizzes-NO RETAKES • Unit Tests (CBMs)-once every three weeks-follow test retake process • Projects-can be redone/corrected at tutoring • Interim Assessments-district administered, NO RETAKES • Final Exam –EOC-NO RETAKES

  9. What do I need in class every day? • Calculator-checked out to student at the beginning of each class • Notebook-provided • Graph paper -provided • A compass and a ruler-provided • Binder-provided

  10. What if I miss a test or a quiz? • All tests and quizzes can (and should) be made up during after-school tutoring M-TH 4pm-5pm –more info is coming pending the principal approval or • During lunch.

  11. How do I make up my classwork/homework? Late assignments are accepted only if they are turned in by the Friday of the week they were missed. No late assignments will be accepted after the Friday of the week they were missed, unless they were completed at tutoring with a tutor signature.

  12. Test RETAKE Procedure. • Do math-after-math worksheet • Check each problem of the worksheet with the teacher. 3. Only when all problems on Math-after-Math have been done correctly, make an appointment with the teacher to retake the test. 4. Attach math-after-math worksheet, retake paper and the original test. 5. All test retakes must be submitted on or before the due date. No late retakes will be accepted.

  13. Test Slip Parent Signature • A parent signature slip is given after each test. If the slip is not returned within 2 days, the student receives a zero on a quiz grade, which can not be made up.

  14. Homework/Class Assignment Corrections Procedure-you will earn ALL missed points back • You can correct all problems marked with – (minus). • Do all corrections on a separate paper. • Copy each problem you are correcting. • Write the corrected solution. • For each correction explain what you did wrong the first time. • Deadline for corrections is Friday of the week you got your graded paper back. • No late corrections will be accepted.
