  2. The first WONDER OF THE WORLD is THE GREAT PYRAMID. There are three monuments in the desert of Giza, the largest is THE GREAT PYRAMID. It contains the burial chamber for the pharaoh, Khufu who died in 2566bc.

  3. The 2nd Wonder of the World, is Babylon. Babylon was one of the first great cities. It was in the heart of Mesopotamia, which is where Iraq is today.

  4. The third Wonder Of The World is the Olympic ZEUS!! Zeus was the king of the Greek gods and the Lord of the sky. Around 430bc Phidias sculpted this statue of Zeus.

  5. The fourth wonder of the world is the temple of the Goddess. People from all over the world came to see this temple!!

  6. The #5 wonder of the world is the Mausoleum. Today any tomb that is designed as grand and public monuments are called Mausoleum.

  7. The 6th wonder of the world is the Colossus of Rhodes. Sailors would gaze upward looking at the beauty of Rhodes!!

  8. Of all the wonders of the ancient world only one served a purpose. This was Pharos, a tall lighthouse that guarded the harbor in Alexandria, Egypt.
