  2. Understanding Carbon Cycle Key to Solving Problems of the World In this unit the students will create videos and sample brochures that they will showcase during the Science Month. The brochures will present the 12 little things a student can to do to save our earth, and the videos will show the negative effects of too much emission of carbon dioxide

  4. BEC Learning Competencies • Evaluate the importance of the interdependency of living things for important gases through oxygen-carbon dioxide cycles

  5. Learning Outcomes • To construct a flow chart of Carbon Cycle. • To make a video presentation showcasing the impacts of too much carbon emission • To make a brochure presenting the 12 little things a student can do save earth

  6. Essential Question What can we do to save our earth?

  7. Unit Questions • What are the ways to conserve and save our earth? • What are the effects of too much emission carbon dioxide to our planet?

  8. Content Questions • What is carbon – oxygen cycle? • What is oxygen and carbon dioxide? • Why is carbon dioxide and oxygen important?

  9. Assessment Plan • Before • Film Showing of “The Inconvenient Truth” • Pre – test on the concepts of carbon – oxygen cycle • Brainstorming

  10. Need to be completed • Group collaboration assessment • Progress checklist Final Presentation: • Carbon – Oxygen Flowchart • Video Presentation on the effects of too much Carbon emission • Brochure about 12 little things a student can do to save earth

  11. After the projects are completed • K – W – L Chart • Reflective essay • Narrative report

  12. Unit Details • Required Materials: • Use only ½ illustration board • Any coloring materials like paint, water color, crayons, pastel and etc. except for spray paints. • The project should be covered by acetate • Not allowed to use any styro materials
