Sea, tá an tseachtain is fuide agus is fearr sa bhliain linn! Maireann Seachtain na Gaeilge ón 1ú Márta suas go dtí Lá Fhéile Pádraig agus tá neart imeachtaí sa cheantar fa do choinne is fa choinne do chlann chun úsáid a bhaint as bhur gcuid Gaeilge is cuma muna a bhfuil ach cúpla focal agat nó má tá tú líofa - beidh imeachtaí ann a bheas fóirsteanach duit!Mar shampla, tá gliondar ar GUT comhoibriú a dhéanamh le Leabharlann Chaisleán Nua agus le Comhairle Ceantair an Iúir, Mhúrn agus an Dúin chun Seal ag Canadh ar cur ar siúl i Leabharlann Chaisleán Nua ar an Satharn, an 9ú Márta ag 10.30in. Beidh Ciara McCrickard i mbun an seisiún amhránaíochta gleoite seo. Tóg leat do lapadán agus bain sult as sin!Yes, it's the longest and best week of the whole year! Irish Language Week runs from the 1st March until St Patrick's Day and there are plenty of events happening locally for you and your family to use your Irish, regardless of whether you are a complete novice or fluent - there's something for you! For example, GUT is delighted to work in partnership with Newcastle Library and Newry, Mourne and Down District Council to present Seal ag Canadh [Sing a-While] rhyme time session in Newcastle Library on Saturday, 9th March between 10.30am-11.00am. Ciara McCrickard will be hosting this delightful event. Take your toddler along and enjoy!  Am Scéil/Story Time: 16.03.2019 Seo imeacht álainn atá fóirsteanach do pháistí 4-8 mbliana. Beidh an scéal léite go dátheangach de bharr sin bainfidh chuile duine sult as. Beidh tábla ceardaíochta ar siúl inadhiaidh an scéil.This is a magical event which is suitable for 4-8 year olds. The story will be read in Irish and translated so everyone can enjoy it. The story-time will be followed by an art & craft table.

Tarlíonn sé go mbeidh seisiún ceoil ar siúl ar an oíche chéanna. Seo deis iontach chun trial a bhaint as an Ghaeilge sin uilig a bhí tú ag foghlaim sna ranganna nó tús a chur léi. Tá muid ag dúil go mór leat a fheiceáil ansin!There will be a magic lively Pop-Up Gaeltacht in Castlewelan's Old Tom bar from 8.00pm onward. The night also includes a trad session. This is a great opportunity to finally get to use all those Irish words you've been learning in classes all year - or to introduce yourself to Irish for the first time. Tá an t-imeachtseouarraithe ag SeachtainnaGaeilge le EnergiaagusConradhnaGaeilge. The graffiti artist, Connor McGinley, will be coming along to the Irish language youth club each week to design a banner celebrating Irish Language Week. The youth club runs each Tuesday between 6.00pm-7.30pm in the YMCA Youth Base, 10B Donard St, Newcastle. Cost: £2/session. All teenagers are welcome.This event has been sponsored by ConradhnaGaeilge'sSeachtainnaGaeilge le Energia. Aifreann Lá Fhéile PádraigSt Patrick's Day Mass Beidh an t-Aifreann i gCaisleán Uidhlín dátheangach i mbliana ar Lá Fhéile Pádraig, an 17ú Márta ag 11.00rn (Gaeilge agus Béarla). Beidh fáilte roimh chuile duine ann. Má tá fonn ort cleachtadh a dhéanamh ar na freagairtí i nGaeilge déan teagmháil le Tony Ó Preith le do thoil (028 437 78540).The 11.00am Mass in Castlewellan will be bi-lingual (Irish/English) on St Patrick's Day this year.   4. Ciorcal Comhrá na nDéagóirí/ Teenage Conversation CircleAch leanann an saol ar aghaidh indhiaidh Seachtain na Gaeilge ar ndóigh! Agus beidh imeacht ar léith ar siúl i Nells, Caisleán Uidhlín ar an 29ú Márta ag 5.00in, fa choinne mic-léinn Gaeilge ag A-Leibhéal. Beidh Edel Ní Churráin ó Raidió Fáilte i mbun ciorcal comhrá agus í ag stiúradh ceardlann dírithe ar scileanna raidió. All Irish A-Level students are most welcome! But life goes on after Irish Language Week of Course! And a snazzy event specifically for Irish language A-Level students will run in Nell's Cafe, Castlewellan on Friday, 29th March at 5.00pm. Edel Ní Churrain from Raidió Fáilte, Belfast's Irish language radio station, will host a conversation circle while presenting an informal workshop on radio production skills. Beidh fáilte roimh mic-léinn A-Leibhéal ar fad! Imeachtaí Eile/ Other Activities Grúpaí Tuistí is Leanaí/Parent and Toddler Groups: Sásta runs each Thursday in Carcullion House in Hilltown between 9.30am-11.30am. An Grúpa Tuismitheoirí is Tachráin is held in St Patrick’s Hall, Bryansford every Friday morning between 9.30am-11.30am. These two groups cost only £2 per family. Everyone is most welcome; go a long and introduce your toddler to a new language! An Cumann Siúlóide/ The Walking Group: This group meets each Saturday morning outside Nel’s café at 10.45am where lifts are available if required. Throughout March the group will commence walking from the back gates of O’Hare’s Bar, Donard Park at 11.00am Club Leabhair/ Book Club: This friendly, informal book club meets in Castlewellan Library each Tuesday morning at 10am Ciorcal Comhrá/ Conversation Circle: This welcoming and lively circle meets each Friday morning in Nana’s Kitchen from 10.30am to midday. Club Óige/Youth Club: If you’re between 11 years and 15 years, fluent in Irish and keen to use it why not come along to the YMCA Youth Base each Tuesday evening in term time between 6pm-7.30pm.
