  6. Bottom - Thirds Negative Drive top-thirds crazy Misrepresent organization Criticize the group Create endless drama Effortless in the task Come around only for fun stuff Ditch their duties Ghost to the organization Top – Thirds worry about Bottom - Thirds

  7. Middle - Thirds Likes getting down to business Sticks to the plan Shifting priorities Jugglers but at times struggle with the juggling process Doesn’t volunteer suggestions or for positions Worry about being a good leader & if they can handle it Avoid conflict & drama May leave when negativity arises

  8. Activity Classify members of your organization into the thirds. Where do your members fall? Where do you fall in your organization?

  9. Making Changes “You can spend your time wishing everyone would join you in the top-third or you can start strategically dealing with people where they are.”

  10. Motivating the Middle Ask their opinion, but promise them it’s not a responsibility Discuss new ways to improve the organization Be on time & get down to business…. You support them juggling their priorities Invite their friends to socials and activities Hate mandatory events, so give them options Minimize drama Put them in charge of something they enjoy, something meaningful and a limited time task Praise them for the work they do Assist with their stressful areas Get to know them on a personal level

  11. Middle Member Strategy “Romance the middle” Make attending events/meeting more appealing Negotiate with them

  12. Bottom – Third Good Enough Member Job Description Come up with a short list that will benefit your organization Must follow up Don’t waste your energy
