AKD Background • Pulp Mill – Digests pine chips and washes fiber stock. • OCC Plant – Supplies paper machines with recycled fiber from OCC (Old Corrugated Containers). • Powerhouse – Supplies steam for mill operation. • Paper Machines – formation and drying of linerboard sheet. • Shipping – Ensures >1,200 tons of linerboard arrive at customer’s door each day. 2

  5. Food Related Waste • Grey trash bags collected in grey lugers • Bagged trash sent to compactor • Compacted waste sent to Morrilton Sanitary Landfill 5

  10. Industrial Waste and Special Opportunities – • >1200 yd3 of lime mud sold during 2014 outage • 80 yd3 refractory brick sold during 2014 outage • Cooling Tower Rebuild. Approximately 340 yd3 plastic fill material to be sent to Green Source Recycling. 10

  11. Industrial Wastes – Fiber Rejects Success • Approximately2,000 yd3 kept out of landfill over last 3 months. • Demand exceeds supply • Used as landfill cover • Sold for solidification • Used in 2ndary papermaking opportunities 11

  13. Universal Wastes • Electronics • Electronics - Goodwill Industries (win-win) • Ballasts – Sent to Veolia • HID’s and Lamps – LEI • Mercury - rare • Batteries – Call 2 Recycle (free) 13

  14. Petroleum Wastes • Used Oil • Used oil is bought by an approved waste transporter/recycling company to be re-refined. • Oil Filter Crusher • Old Kerosene 14
