School in question is Edugurallapalli RBC. • The mid-day meal (for some the only meal of the day) is sponsored under SSA. • SSA coverage of funding is inadequate. • This proposal is to cover that funding.

  3. Statistics • SSA provides 6.18 Rs per Kg for rice • Market price is 18 Rs per Kg • SSA payments are not regular, sometimes, they release once in 2 months funds. • SSA evaluation is based on widely spaces periodic visits. Only the # of children present on that day are counted leading to undercounting. • SSA officers have promised to improve the situation, but have not done anything. • Shortfall is Rs Rs. 1,85,727. 60 per yr for the 87 children.

  4. Other sources • College Park, Boston, Troy have supported • Koya IDP relief report • http://aidindia.org/main/content/view/1237/279/ • Some funds had been given initially under relief and rehab. • If we need those funds, we need to approach EB. • These might not fall under that category, and will delay funding.

  5. Funding requirement • Item • Quantity per child per month • 0.5 kgs x 30 days = 15 kgs per month • Additional cost per child per month • 11. 86 per kg x 15 kgs = 177.9 per month • Total cost per Annum • Rice • 15, 477. 30 (for 87 children) per month x 12 months = 1,85,727. 60 paise per annum
