  4. Basis for ISD 1. The systems approach applies to learning a method of logical problem solving similar to the scientific method. Thompson, Simonson, & Hargrave, 1996

  5. Basis for ISD 2. Instruction designed using the systems approach is self-correcting. 3. Instruction designed using the systems approach applies rational procedures for designing instructional programs that ensure the attainment of specific objectives.

  6. Basis for ISD 4. The systems approach incorporates ways of looking at complex organizational problems that takes into account contingencies.
