Contacts have been completed for Cycles 4 and 5, and follow up is underway.

Chandra Science Results Used in Outreach - Prepared Science Highlight of the Month for NASA HQ - 18 Astronomy Picture of the Day, plus 27 reference links to Chandra Public Web site - 24 HEASARC Picture of the Week - 7 Space.com Image of the Day - Monthly updates of 2-3 features to NASA Portal, to Smithsonian Institution Research Portal, based on new monthly press and image releases - Monthly updates of 2-3 features to ViewSpace for "Celestial Update" feature (~120 sites)

Chandra Science Results Used in Outreach, cont. - 10 Chandra Chronicle articles tied to Space Science Updates or press release topics - 27 Chandra Digests (electronic newsletter) - Over 70 permissions for image, video and content use Examples: Video/animation requested by Nova, MIT, GSFC, HST, Discovery Canada; requests for image and content use for MIT on-line course, McGraw Hill on-line encyclopedia, high school research projects, PBS education materials, American Science Decathalon study guide, National Science Olympiad study guide - 3 additional citations in PsiGate, an on-line, peer-reviewed reference site for the physical sciences - Continue to disseminate printed material (posters, lithos, etc.) to educators, workshops, astronomy events

AAS • - Teacher Enrichment and Professional Educator Development Workshops • in collaboration with Wright Center for Science Education • Held 3 workshops for 70 educators, June-July 2003 • Holding 3 workshops June 23-July 2, 2004 • - Education Presentations • Scientists & EPO staff • Chandra Workshops: Martin Elvis, Janet Mattei, Terry Matilsky, Kim Kowal, April Hobart • Other: 12 school presentations • Chandra Educator and Resource Agents • 48 talks and presentations including regional and national • NSTA meetings, national AAPT meetings, Arizona, North Dakota, • Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maine state science teacher • meetings, Astronomy Day and Space Day events, National Science • Olympiad student and coaches clinics • - NASA Product Review • 3 formal education products submitted for review in 2003 - all accepted and recommended for NASA distribution. Submitted three more this year.

  6. Cycle 6 EPO Cycle 6 Supplemental EPO Grants - CfP has been posted - EPO Proposal Deadline is Sept. 10, 2004 - Have abandoned RPS system. Developed screen fillable forms. - New option is "Team" proposals. Same idea as Institutional proposals except can involve multiple institutions - Criteria revised to track with new NASA evaluation guidelines - Peer review scheduled for Oct. 20-22, 2004
