  1. Yoga has a long and rich history. The first few yogis are said to start practicing the poses back to about 5,000 years ago. Since then, there are several variations of yoga that was introduced not just for fitness enthusiast but also for the persons who experience some type of health or body condition.

  3. Hatha Yoga- the hatha yoga is the most commonly practiced variation of yoga. “Hatha” is the term that symbolizes forceful. As a result, the body and mind are aligned which gives the yogi a calmer outlook on life.

  6. Restorative Yoga- the restorative yoga can be considered as a variation of the poses originally introduced by B.K.S. Iyengar. The restorative yoga aims to help heal the mind and the body.

  7. Iyengar Yoga- the Iyengar yoga is a method that is introduced by one of the greatest yoga masters of the world- B.K.S. Iyengar. The poses practiced in the Iyengar yoga require proper posture.

  8. Kundalini Yoga- the kundalini yoga is the type that incorporates chanting of mantras, proper breathing techniques, and meditation. The primary goal of kundalini yoga is to help the yogi increase consciousness.

  9. Power Yoga- the power yoga is usually dubbed as the “gym yoga”. However, the power yoga practitioners strongly believe that this variation is more similar to the methods used in ashtanga.
