  2. Block Polymers • Nonionic surfactants that are composed of monomer units of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide. EO and PO are added in amounts to create certain molecular weights and certain characteristics. • Stable in both cationic and anionic surfactant systems.

  3. T-Det Surfactants T-Det EPO 61, 62, 64, 68 surfactants: polymer is po:eo blocks to create desired MW. • Compete with Pluronic L series from BASF. • All start with 1750 MW PO then the series is 10%, 20%, 40% and 80% EO by weight. The more EO the higher HLB. (More water loving) • Act as emulsifiers w/o and o/w • Good dispersants • Stable over a wide pH range. • Stable in salt solutions. Good hard water tolerance.

  4. T-Det Reverse Polymers T-Det 25R2 reverse surfactants: Propylene oxide is outside EO:PO creates a hydrophillic polymer (more water loving)Competes with Pluronic 25R2 • Exhibits lower foaming • These surfactants are used often for soil and turf wetting. (water management) • Are better defoamers • Exhibit reduced gelling tendencies in water

  5. T-Det XD and XH • XD is butanol that is propoxylated then ethoxylated. XH is more ethoxylated to a higher molecular weight. More water loving. • XD has a lower melt point. • Competes with Tergitol XD and XH • Improves W/O Ag emulsifiable concentrates. • Good emulsifier for alkyd resins used in coatings.

  6. T-Det LF Surfactants T-Det LF Surfactants: alkoxylated alcohols. (not all alkoxylated alcohols are approved for use in pesticide formulations) • LF-505 low foaming wetting agent with high cloud point and hot water stable. • LF-416 is a more moderate foamer and lower cloud point. • Both series are excellent wetting agents and rinse aids. • Soluble in many solvents and do not tend to gel.

  7. Conclusions • All are stable with cationic and anionic surfactants. • EPO Series is very hard water tolerant and stable over a wide pH range. • XH and XD good oil in water emulsifiers. • LF Series low foaming and high cloud points.
