  2. Guiding Question: What kinds of specific lines are there? • Lesson Obj: I know and can apply the properties of angles formed by 2 parallel lines cut by a transversal to solve problems and justify results • Key Terms • Parallel Lines • Perpendicular Lines • Intersecting lines

  3. Guiding Question: What types of specific lines are there? When lines cross, we call them intersecting. (think roads connecting) Intersecting lines cross somewhere.

  4. Guiding Question: What types of specific lines are there? When 2 lines intersect and create a 90 degree angle, we call them perpendicular lines. The angle that is created is called right.(these angles allow us to create blocks with roads)

  5. Guiding Question: What types of specific lines are there? Parallel lines: coplanar lines that have a constant distance between them. (Lines that will never touch in the same plane)

  6. Guiding Question: What types of specific lines are there? In the coordinate plane, parallel lines have the same slope In the coordinate plane, perpendicular lines have slopes that multiply to -1.

  7. Guiding Question: What types of specific lines are there? Skew lines: Non-coplanar lines that will never touch. (distance varies) The green and blue line are parallel, both are skew to the red line.
