  1. Everyone Doing His Job Romans 12:3-15 • Right view of.. • Yourself • Fellow-Christian • Christ

  2. I. Watch out for the Big Head “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” Rom. 12:3

  3. Think Soberly of Yourself Think sensibly Paul did not have the big head because of what he had done. - 1 Cor. 15:9 “least” - Eph. 3:8 “less than the least”

  4. Pride causes problems “Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.” Prov. 13:10 Herod – Acts 12:22,23 Haman - Esther 5:9 Pride will bring us down !

  5. II. Church is to be Unified Rom.12:4-5 “For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.”

  6. Unity • Christ is the Head –Eph.1:22-23 • Christians members of body • A difference in our abilities • v. 4 “not the same office” • v. 6 “having then gifts differing”

  7. Unity & Harmony • No room for jealousy / backbiting • 1 Cor. 12:14-31 • Not one member, but many • All parts co-operate • Not a “church boss” • All parts are valuable

  8. III. Everyone do His job Well Rom.12:6-8 Responsibilities are Great Young Misled Feeble Grief Pout Inexperienced Widows Orphans

  9. “Prophecy according to the Proportion of faith” These were the teachers Not to go beyond and tell more than was revealed Must teach only what is revealed

  10. “Let us wait on our ministering” • Practical service for others • Law of kingdom: • Not “use thyself for thyself” • Not “use others for thyself” • But “use thyself for others”

  11. “He who teaches in teaching” Not all have the ability to teach Those who have it must use it Be the best Bible class teacher that you can be

  12. “He who exhorts, in exhortation” Appeal to the heart and conscience Barnabas was good at this Many have this ability

  13. “He who gives, with liberality” Some have ability to make money Opportunity to show liberality Not for show or seeking glory for self

  14. “He who leads, with diligence” Elders Deacons Fathers

  15. “He who shows mercy, with Cheerfulness” Caring for the sick and needy Do it with joy Do it with happiness

  16. Everyone Doing His Job “Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.” Rom. 12:9 not pretended love “Hate the evil, and love the good” Amos 5:15a

  17. “Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;” Rom. 12:10 We belong to the same family Brotherly love John 13:35

  18. “Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;”Rom.12:11 • Slothful = lazy, half hearted • Fervent – diligent, put whole self into work • Serving the Lord -

  19. “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.” Eccl.9:10

  20. God can use all of us. There is work for all of us to do. Whatever you are qualified to do, do it with diligence and haste. Everyone Doing His Job
