They have 74 corporate offices and need to train 310 HR employees and managers how to use the software. Challenge The cost of flights and accommodations for the HR staff to joined locations for training far exceeds the budget for the project, which ended up costing 30% more to create than was originally planned. The training has been compiled into a PowerPoint presentation, as well as a web-based demo. How can they cut the cost incurred by travel to the "training sessions" in order to offset the extra cost of the software development? In an effort to stay within budget, they are researching presentation tools where they can hold virtual training. They would like something that is easy-to-use, affordable, and flexible enough to handle slides, screen sharing, web-based demos of the new software, live audio from the presenter and possibly a chat feature for Q & A. Affordances There needs to be a definite host with ability to control participant’s rights Presenter is the focus at all times, maintains control of the presentation Presenter must know who is attending the meeting Presenter must be able to display various presentations, and applications (PPT & Internet Explorer) Presenter’s voice must transmit with high quality through the tool Private and Public Chatting is preferred, for Q & A during the presentation Must support up to 50 connections/participants Must allow for easy usage, preferably one click access Must have secure, encrypted access Meeting id/login data (handed out by host/presenter) is preferred
