  2. 摘要 本文介绍了PIM-SM的实现以及对于热备份的一些考虑。在简单介绍了PIM-SM协议大体背景、框架后，本文重点放在描述协议的运行流程，力图通过几种典型的PIM-SM协议行为，形象地描绘出PIM-SM协议运行的整体情况，而不纠缠于网络中某一台路由器对于各种情况的细微的处理情况。同时，加入自己对PIM-SM协议的一些分析及与其他组播路由协议的对比，并对某些协议行为提出一定的改进建议。最后，本文讨论了热备份的概念及其作用，并介绍了Cisco公司的HSRP协议，在参考它的基础上，提出自己对热备份的看法，并对在PIM-SM协议中引入热备份机制提出一些观点和方案。
