  1. PRAYER

  2. The youth leader who in daily prayer, falls penitently before God seeking His direction, will be able to stand as an exceptional mentor for youths. PRAYER

  3. Prayer is the breath of the soul. It is the secret of spiritual power. No other means of grace can be submitted, and the health of the soul is preserved. Prayer brings the heart into immediate contact with the Wellspring of life, and strengthens the sinew and Muscles of the [youth leader] religious experience. {GW 254} PRAYER

  4. Prayer Is the MASTERKEY to unlock the door to all the other imperatives. “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” James 1:5 ESV PRAYER

  5. VISION

  6. Clearly, vision is an essential element needs to be in those who are called to lead youth. Considering the age differences, culture and other factors involved in youth ministry, having a clear communicated vision is a must. VISION

  7. “Without prophetic vision people run wild,
but blessed are those who follow God’s teachings.” Proverbs 29:18 VISION

  8. DISCIPLE

  9. "All mankind is of one author, and is one volume; when one man dies, one chapter is not torn out of the book, but translated into a better language; and every chapter must be so translated...As therefore the bell that rings to a sermon, calls not upon the preacher only, but upon the congregation to come: DISCIPLE

  12. The Process is pretty simple The Mentor WORKS while the Mentee WATCH. The Mentor and the Mentee WORKS TOGETHER. The Mentor WATCH while the Mentee WORKS. The Mentee Mentor. DISCIPLE

  13. SHARE

  14. Look for opportunities in your individual youth ministry in your church to work with other departments instead of having youth ministry isolated. SHARE

  15. Give the youth the change to share their talents in the other ministries of the Church, after all, youths are the ones to complete the Work of evangelism before Jesus returns . Be an example in this endeavor. SHARE

  16. TEAM

  17. Ever youth leader who wishes to be effective but understand the value of team work and implement it. TEAM

  18. Don’t be afraid to be outshining by others. Appreciate and utilize the talents of others to impact the work. TEAM

  19. Be intentional to create a team of leaders around you. It is the select group from your disciples. It takes a team to make an effective youth ministry. Involve other in the work. TEAM

  20. RESEARCH

  21. Don't get locked into your hear and now or the ‘this is what work in my days’ mentality. A seed that does not grow is dried up. Spend quality time in personal development. If you want to be effective you must have the ability to be a lifelong learner. RESEARCH

  22. .A healthy youth ministry is led by someone who invest in their own personal development. They read books & blogs, interact with others, acquire new resources, and learn new ways of practicing ministry. RESEARCH

  24. ADMINISTRATION

  25. It is not being selfish it is being responsible to your call. YOU ARE THE LEADER. Lead, manage, and provide foresight to the ministry you are a steward of. ADMINISTRATION

  26. If you are not the best administrator learn while recruiting people around you to help you manage the ministry God has given you, which will position you to be an effective administrator. Don't do everything, but you are the leader of everything. ADMINISTRATION

  29. MENTOR

  30. Find persons to be mentors or advisors to you. They might be youth leaders who have egress the front line duties. However, having such mentors in your live will be beneficial to being a good steward. MENTOR

  31. Connect with other people in the trenches. Share information, ideas or programs. Don't be a lone ranger. Trust me on this, connect with other youth workers and connect regularly to share ideas and pray for each other. It will is far better than trying to do it all by yourself. Don't compete complete. NETWORK

  32. Have A Positive Attitude

  33. There is nothing more damaging to youth ministry than a cranky leader. Don't you complain the entire time, or else that is what will characterized your ministry. Even in the worst of times you need to be able to put on a calm face. Keep your focus on the good in every situation. Have A Positive Attitude

  34. I have a deep interest in the youth, and I greatly desire to see them striving to perfect Christian characters, seeking by diligent study and earnest prayer to gain the training essential for acceptable service in the cause of God. I long to see them helping one another to reach a higher plane of Christian experience. Conclusion

  35. Christ came to teach the human family the way of salvation, and He made this way so plain that a little child can walk in it. He bids His disciples follow on to know the Lord; and as they daily follow His guidance, they learn that His going forth is prepared as the morning. Conclusion

  36. You have watched the rising sun, and the gradual break of day over earth and sky. Little by little the dawn increases, till the sun appears; then the light grows constantly stronger and clearer until the full glory of noontide is reached. Conclusion

  37. This is a beautiful illustration of what God desires to do for His children in perfecting their Christian experience. As we walk day by day in the light He sends us, in willing obedience to all His requirements, our experience MOH 15 Conclusion
