  2. TIP 1 Toothpaste isn’t really needed before teeth emerge, but a soft wet wash keep the gums healthy.

  3. TIP 2 Make oral care a part of a daily routine.  It will keep up this healthy practice once teeth appear.

  4. TIP 3 When the first teeth start to show up, use a toothbrush specifically designed for babies.

  5. TIP 4 Use the fluoride free toothpaste until your child has learned not to swallow when brushing.

  6. TIP 5 Brush your child’s teeth until he or she is able to hold the brush.

  7. TIP 6 Be aware of the signs of baby tooth decay and stay up to date on pediatric dental exams.
