The Start • Export Certificates are G2G documents issued to facilitate trade of agricultural products by assuring that the commodity has met the importing government requirements. • Certification may cover animal or plant health, food safety or public health, or animal welfare issues. • Paper certificates have been issued for many years and are subject to international standards for food

  5. Statistics Australia and New Zealand combined for export • 1900 templates in use • trade with 120 economies • 30 + languages supported • 250 000 certificates for edible meat issued each year • 16,000 of these are exchanged between AU & NZ

UN/CEFACT • Established the eCert Project Team under TBG 15 – Trade Facilitation • First meeting in 2004 in Bonn, Germany • Representatives from Canada, USA, WCO, Chinese Taipei, Japan, Australia and New Zealand • BRS approved • TBG 17 harmonization completed and requirements included in the D08A CCL • RSM submitted to ICG for audit.
