  2. Purpose Review grant models that • determine the probability of effectiveness of a grant program • provide a process analysis needed to implement effective grant programs

Model Development • Research-based: 2 theories emerged • “the data upon which it is based are comprehensive and the interpretations conceptual and broad…the theory should be abstract enough and include sufficient variation to make it applicable to a variety of contexts related to that phenomenon” (Strauss & Corbin)

  4. Model Development In order to develop theory, it is necessary to select cases that will capture data from which a broad applicable theory can be constructed (Gall) Meta-analyses of previous research Multiple case study Qualitative and quantitative methods

  5. Model Application • Tested on multiple case studies • Used in education, business, nonprofit • Adaptable to any grant program
