  2. Meralgia paresthetica • Pijn en hypesthesie of allodynie in het verzorgingsgebied van de n. fem. cut. lat.

  3. PubMed search: • “meralgia paresthetica”, “evoked”, “lateral cutaneous femoral nerve” • 27 papers • Hiervan 7 over SSEP als diagnostisch hulpmiddel bij meral.par.

  4. Onderzoek van een diagnostische test • Gemengde patiëntenpopulatie (mèt en zònder de aandoening) • Vergelijkt de diagnostische test met de gouden standaard • De test moet worden uitgevoerd onafhankelijk van enige andere informatie (klinische en/of van de gouden standaard)

Conclusies • Alle studies gebruiken vooraf gediagnosticeerde patiënten, dus het evt. discriminerend vermogen van SSEP in een gemengde populatie is niet gemeten • Gouden standaard is de klinische diagnose • Op 1 studie na detecteert de SSEP niet alle mp patiënten, dus • De additionele diagnostische waarde van SSEP boven de klinische diagnose is op basis van de literatuur: 0
