  4. Some curiosities… • “Brundisium” The origin of the name probably derives from the latin “bhren”, which means “horns” for the peculiar form of its natural port • It was the final point of the Appian Way, the ancient Roman road

Province of Brindisi • The EUROPEAN POLICIES DEPARTMENT is active in international cooperation activities: • It is involved in several projects of European Territorial Cooperation Programmes; • It is PP in 7 projects in the frame of the OP Greece – Italy 2007/2013: • 1st call: GrItCUZINE, LOC PRO II, NETLAM and WAS4D; • 3rd call: EPA and CiProEFFECT • Strategic: BIG

  9. ORANGE PUBLIC MANAGEMENT SRL PRESENTATION AND ACTIVITIES Orange Public Management Srl won the tender for the management activities of BIG project Orange Public Management Srl (O.P.M. Srl) is a specialized company in EU funds - Project Management and it uses valuable experts in EU Project management field.

ORANGE PUBLIC MANAGEMENT PRESENTATION AND ACTIVITIES The contract we are going to sign with Province of Brindisi includes: Coordination activities with LP, PPs, Apulia Region and JTS, Administrative secretary and accountig expenditure project management (deliverable 1.3.7) Updating project website (deliverable 2.2.7); Coordination activities and monitoring of the pilot project “Restoration of coastal dunes in regional park Torre Canne – Torre San Leonardo (deliverable 5.1.1); Support and technical assistance for WP6 activities (deliveralbles 6.1.5, 6.2.5 and 6.3.5)

IMPLEMENTANTION ACTIVITIES OF BIG PROJECT SO FAR – PP7 • WP 5 – Valorization and sustainability of the • protected areas/Pilot action • Action 5.1 - Deliverable 5.1.1 • Pilot project “Restoration of coastal dunes • in regional park Dune Costiere Torre Canne – Torre San Leonardo • We held several meetings with the Municipality of Ostuni and the Management Body of Regional Park Dune Costiere for an agreement between public bodies for the implementation of the pilot project.
