  4. Change details

  5. Deployment Model FTTC F/O Secondary Cable (copper) ≤ 250 mt F/O F/O • CENTRAL OFFICE TO STREET CABINET THROUGH FIBER CABLE • STREET CABINET TO THE CUSTOMER THROUGH SECONDARY(COPPER) CABLE (MAX:250 mt) F/O FTTH FTTB ONT F/O FIBER BUILT-IN CABLING SPLITTER F/O CAT-6 BUILT-IN CABLING • FIBER REACHES • THE BOUNDARY OF LIVING SPACE • FIBER REACHES THE BOUNDARY OF THE BUILDING, SUCH AS THE BASEMENT IN A MULTI-DWELLING UNIT, WITH THE FINAL CONNECTION TO THE INDIVIDUAL LIVING SPACE BY CAT-6 (COPPER CABLE) • Depending on the type of area, income level, topology and conditions of competition, FTTH, FTTB or FTTC solutions are implemented. FTTH Selected greenfield areas, industrialized areas FTTB Existing customers, businessareas, high income residences, etc. FTTC Locations where rapid transformation is required and use of local cable is feasible

  6. FTTX SPECIFICATIONS

  7. DISASTER-EARTHQUAKE • Scenerio 1 : Earthquake on large FTTX deployed area • Assumptions • Main Telecom buildings are not damaged • AC Mains is off • Aftershocks are expecting • Collapsed or Destroyed; • Buildings • Telecom İnfrastructure (Ducts, Pipes, Cables, Equipments …) • High amount of incoming voice and Data traffic towards • Disaster area • Goverment agencies • Relief agencies • Press agencies • ………

  8. DISASTER-EARTHQUAKE • RESULTS • Telecom infrastructure destroyed and out of service • There is no way to quickly recover infrastructure and provide service other than Mobile capabilities.

  9. EFFECT OF EARTQUAKE

  10. EFFECT OF EARTQUAKE

  11. DISASTER-EARTHQUAKE • Scenerio 2 : Earthquake on large FTTX deployed area • Main Telecom buildings are not damaged • AC Mains is off • Aftershocks are expecting • Some buildings collapsed destroyed others undamaged • Telecom infrastructure (Ducts, Pipes, Cables, Equipments …) partially destroyed in some areas but still big portion un damaged • High amount of incoming voice and Data traffic towards • Disaster area • Goverment agencies • Relief agencies • Press agencies • ………

  12. DISASTER-EARTHQUAKE • RESULTS • Telecom infrastructure destroyed and out of service in some areas • Big Part of Network in good condition and works • But still there is risk to loose all services • Since Mains off, Fuel is running out, Battery back up times are exceeding • How we can maintain services ?

  13. DISASTER-EARTHQUAKE

  14. DISASTER-FLOODING

  15. DISASTER-EARTHQUAKE • Fiber cables more sensible pressure than copper cables • Ring or mesh topoloji critical for FTTC cabinets • Power shortage is very critical • Spare FTTX equipment or boards and batteries • Fire • More network people to diagnose problems and put equipments in service
