1. * Pakistan Clean Air Network * CLEAN AIR INITIATIVE for ASIAN CITIES PCAN Pakistan Clean Air Network Mission “Integration of air quality concerns into the development planning processes to facilitate transparent and participatory decision-making for a healthier Pakistan.” Objectives • To facilitate integration of air quality management programmes in the development planning processes and assist in their implementation; • To develop and implement awareness raising campaigns on air quality management; • To undertake institutional strengthening and capacity building for air quality management; • To facilitate the development of policies and programmes for air quality management; • To promote and facilitate air quality research. Business Plan • Knowledge Management • Develop material for the promotion of PCAN; • Restructure and regularly update Pakistan page of CAI-Asia website; • Prepare country edition of the compendium on AQM projects; • Prepare Pakistan Air Quality Review report. • Capacity Building • Organize National Urban Air Quality Workshop in Karachi; • Undertake Teambuilding of local area network; • Organize a national course on AQM. • Policy Development • Facilitate and catalyze the establishment of Lahore Clean Air Committee; • Coordinate meetings of Karachi Clean Air Coordination Committee; • Provide support to Pakistan EPA in the finalization of Pakistan Clean Air Programme and NAAQS. Networking/Advocacy • Organize AQM seminars in Peshawar and Quetta; • Participate in BAQ 2006; • Organize a donor meeting to introduce AQM and Pakistan Clean Air Network.
