Project description • Automotive industry trends • Car weight reduction • Increasing safety  • Automotive industry solution • Use of high strength steels (HSS) • Influence on the die making industry • Unpredictable elastic relaxation of parts • Increased wear of drawing, cutting and bending elements of dies • Consequences • Increased number of iterations in the finalization of dies • Difficulties in achieving the planned deadlines and costs

  4. Project participants • Cooperation with Laboratory for numerical modeling and simulations (FS). • Together with the company Conphis d.o.o. a special measuring machine was developed. Using the model in the simulation application Constitutive model Parameters identification Model confirmation with examples Eksperiments Results of the project • Numerical tools for HSS material forming simulations. • Developed and verified procedure for experimental analysis of new materials. • Database of HSS materials parameters. • Design recommendations for HSS product dies. • Production recommendations for HSS products.
