Assessment Beginnings KSC Integrative Studies Program Assessment Process • ISP Assessment Committee • All students are required to submit work to Blackboard sites for Program Assessment • Random selection of student artifacts • Interdisciplinary teams participate in norming session/ assess 20 artifacts each at $30/hr

Assessment Beginnings Some Initial Challenges • Not all faculty had students submit work • Not all faculty expectations about learning clear • Assignment alignment with outcomes may indicate lack of appropriate learning experiences that allow students to practice skill development with feedback from faculty • Initial competencies were global and are now being revised to reflect lower and upper level

Assessment Beginnings Select Outcomes of lower level ISP: Integrative Thinking and Writing: • Used in-text references to sources (73%) • Incorporated 3 or more scholarly references in a research paper (38%) Integrative Quantitative Literacy • Learned more about the process and needs for improvement (Rancourt, 2011)
