Zinc • FUN FACTS • Last element alphabetically • In the body, can maximize physical growth and development • 1 of 4 one syllable elements • The element is normally found in association with other basemetals such as copper and lead in ores • USES • Galvanize other metals to prevent corrosion • Paints • Rubber Products

  10. Cadmium • Found only in compounds • FUN FACTS • Associated with TV’s • It is toxic • Almost all is contained by a by-pruduct • USES • Mostly in batteries • Electroplating

  11. Mercury • Found both by itself and as a compound in nature FUN FACTS • So thick that bricks can float in it • Gold dissolves in it • Very toxic • Liquid metal • USES • Thermometers • Barometers • For production of chlorine
