Research & Intelligence Unit • Part of Planning, Economy and Performance Directorate • Areas of work, including: • Market Research e.g. Citizen’s Panel, BIG Questionnaire • Population forecasting • Needs Analysis e.g. Children, Health, Crime • Evaluation e.g. Children’s Fund, Youth Inclusion and Support Programme • Performance Management

  4. Needs Analysis • For Children and Young People’s Plan and Joint Area Review • Data analysis in three phases until February 2008 • Data analysis focussed around the outcomes of the Children’s Act • Phase One to inform Extended Services planning

  5. InstantAtlas • To make data widely available • Web-based mapping • Now approx. 150 datasets • SEF • www.worcestershire.gov.uk/chsneeds

  7. Potential Issues • Value added scores appear to be lower than would be expected from KS2 to KS4 • Higher proportion of young offenders than in the rest of the county • Obesity rates above the county average • Not in education, employment and training • Participation in youth activities
