  1. Spring Fling April 4, 2012

  2. What is the Mattoon Huddle? Membership based group of Fans, Parents and Supporters of Mattoon Green Wave Football.

  3. Why was it Started? The time is right: as we move to the Apollo Conference the rivalries will be big, the excitement will be in the air, hopes will be high and expectations will be even higher. Coach Johnson had a vision for the program.

  4. What is Our Mission? Create a connection between the Team and the community:Bring the team and the community together to form an united front. When you play Mattoon Football you aren’t just facing a team you are facing an entire community. Our Community will be an extension of the team. Seek excellence for the Mattoon Football program. Have some Fun: forming the Huddle gives the kids and the community the opportunity to have the best football experience possible. The program brings people together to enjoy football and be closer to the program. Support the program financially: Help Coach Johnson and his staff meet their equipment, facility, coach and player needs to reach the next level.

  6. Where will YOUR Funds be Used? Funds will go into supporting and developing Mattoon Football. Today funds go toward: Player game day meals Player Banquet Player scholarships for football camps Team Support Materials And we have bigger dreams… We intend to build funding for the coach’s wish list: 5-Man Blocking Sled Locker Room Improvements Filming Tower Storage Shed Practice Field Improvement Practice Equipment Weight Room Improvement Weightlifting Equipment In the future we want to reach for the bigger items like… Team development camps Video scoreboard And maybe even an artificial turf playing surface!

  9. How do YOU Stay Involved? Mattoon Huddle meets the first Wed of each month from November-July and Every Wednesday from August – October. You can attend the meetings, you can join a committee and help that committee with its responsibilities.
