  4. Goniometer Installations Newly built and installed (Summer 2009) Vertical goniometer at E0. It is ~ 4m upstream of the Hor. one. Ver. goniometer houses old O-shaped crystal (reversed for negative miscut) and multi-strip crystal. Modified horizontal goniometer. Replaced old large-miscut angle O-shaped crystal with new small miscut O-shaped during Summer 2009. D. Still 4

  11. First E03H collimator scan in the channel D. Still

  12. E03H Coll Scan compare 2005,2008,2009O-BNL-02 to O-05-09 crystals D. Still

  13. Difference in E03H moving IN and OUT D. Still

  14. Bend Angle mismatch?? D. Still

  15. A look at Crystal angle scans D. Still

  16. 3 different angular scans for O-05-09 D. Still

  17. Effects of B0PAGC during 3 angle scans D. Still

  18. Compare Simulated channel loss to data D. Still

  19. STRUCT/CRYAPR Beam Loss: New O-shaped (H) E03 and F172 collimators and xtal Loss profiles are when crystal is at angle for channel. Bend angle of crystal (O-05-09) = 360 urad Rest of the Tevatron D. Still

  20. A Look at VR beam from O-05-09 D. Still

  21. VR Beam at F172H Collimators VR Beam should be ~ .9mm from core For ~ VR angle of 16urad. Result of ring orbit for 16urad Kick simulating effect of VR kick. D. Still

  22. November 2, 2007 A.Drozhdin At E03H Collimator At F172H Collimator AM VR CH VR AM CH Extracted and circulating beams position in the Tevatron at collimation in horizontal plane with 3-mm channeling crystal located at EO straight section. Transverse plane is shown at EO3 (left) and F172 (right) collimators entrance for particles with momentum dP/P=0 (top), dP/P=-0.0002 (middle) and both (bottom).

  23. E03H collimator scan data Define E03H collimator at “Max Catch” position = 260 mils to stop all particles without the E03H collimator becoming the leading edge. Max catch position D. Still

  24. F172H collimator scan data E03H collimator is at “Max Catch” position = 260 mils D. Still

  25. Finding VR beam at F17 Maybe Collimated VR beam Displacement difference ~ 45 mils or 1.125 mm F172H scan w/ angle at channel -970urad. F172H scan w/ angle at VR -882urad D. Still

  26. Another look at Collimated VR beam at F172H at different VR angle. Crystal angle in VR region E0CCA2 = -914urad Crystal angle in CHANNEL region E0CCA2 = -971urad D. Still

  27. VR present when there is channeled beam CH AM VR These simulations are with the crystal placed at 5s Simulations predict that when the crystal angle is set to channel there is also scattered and VR present. D. Still

  32. D. Still

  33. B0PAGC level is elevated when F172H is “IN” D. Still

  34. Ring Losses for channel vs. amorphous angles Maybe argue there is more local loss?? tough Crystal angle set in amorphous region Crystal angle set to channel = -970urad D. Still

  35. F17 Instrumentation – Abort Gap Loss F1 abort gap losses RF station 5 tripping causing more losses in abort gap E1 abort gap losses D. Still

  36. F17 Instrumentation – Bunch Loss F1 bunch loss E1 bunch loss D. Still

  37. Additional detector hooked up Todd hooked this paddle yesterday and it is getting database entries and should be available soon. This should be equivalent to the LE0PIN and hopefully more sensitive. D. Still

  38. H4 – MVR in a single crystal I Under proper axial alignement VR from main and skew planes collapse in MVR in a single crystal D. Still

  39. What should next EOS contain? • There are questions about TEL and abort gap losses? • There is new instrumentation installed now that might be able to help with answering this. • What are we missing about fundamental displacement? • Should large angle scans for O-05-09 be on our list of EOS? D. Still
