  1. The Game: Attack and Defend • Why is it called “Attack & Defend”? • Because you can add to your own chips or destroy other players’ chips. • The “chips” are the Positive and Negative chips we’ve been working with in pictures. Positive Chips Negative Chips 5 5 0 0 - 5 - 5

  2. How to Keep Score • You DON’T win by having the most chips. You win by having the most points. • To earn points, get at least 5, 10, 15, or 20 chips. • The FIRST time you get 5 chips, you get 1 pt. • The FIRST time you get 10 chips, you get 3 pts. • More point values are on the Point Values for Chips on the handout.

  3. More About Points • You LOSE points by getting negative chips. • For example, the first time you get 5 Negative chips, you lose 1 point. • See the Point Values for Chips table for more information. • Lastly, at the end of the game, you earn points by having more chips than other people. See the Point Values for Chips table.

  4. How to Play the Cards • When it’s your turn, you can play a card on yourself or on anyone else. • The cards add to or take away from your chips. • Keep track of your chips with the chips tracker.
