To do… • Read C-22 • Glue in the Understanding Concepts Rubric • Copy the Challenge Question • Copy the vocab terms: • Constructive: A force that builds up earth material to make landforms. • Destructive: A force that breaks down or removes earth processes. • Deposit (deposition): 1. Earth materials that have been left in a particular location as a result of an earth process that drops sediment that were suspended in the air, water, or ice (noun). –OR 2. To leave material (verb). • Erode (erosion): To remove earth materials from one place and transport them to another, commonly by moving water or wind. • Floodplain: The relatively low area on either side of a river that becomes covered with water when the river rises above the banks. • Weathering:The breakup of rock caused by mechanical or chemical processes. • Earth Processes: Actions that occur on the earth’s surface and inside the earth.

  3. To do… • Earth processes are the actions that occur on the earth’s surface and inside the earth. The result of these processes are CHANGE. • Discuss the following before reading: • What happens to all pieces of rock and soil that are eroded by moving water?
