  10. Difficulties • Funding of the courses - it is self generated (our own pockets) • Cost of international faculty from ERC needed to direct, observe, and audit • Administrative management of ERC course in a regular base in Sudan. • Local, regional, and international commitment, SRC mandated to participate in at least 3 ERC Executive Committee in Brussels every year as per the MOU • Logistic issues: venue, equipment, secretarial need • Course manuals shipment and custom issue ( last shipment released from airport custom after 3 weeks with huge difficulties

  19. Regional Achievements • For years, a group of Instructors from the area have always spoke about having a resuscitation council that works in affiliation with the ERC and serves as a support to the growing councils in the region to build their own training portfolios and looks in depth into the loco-regional difficulties which they encounter during their journey to build these portfolios. • The Sudan Resuscitation Council takes these thoughts further by hosting the founding meeting of the Arab Resuscitation Council (ArRC) in Khartoum on 30 November 2013. • Representative from: Sudan, Egypt, Tunis, Syria, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Libya, Palestine, Somalia, Yemen attend the meeting. • Representative from Executive Committee of the ERC attend the meeting, who deliver a presentation exploring the ERC journey over the years with special emphasis on core activities and European and International collaborations, example, ILCOR (International Liaison Committee On Resuscitation), and how it build a Consensus on Science and new Guidelines. • Sudan elected as the General Secretary of the ArRC, Khartoum selected a the permanent headquarter of the council .

  20. Impact on service (SRC & Military Hospital Agreement) SRC worked with the Emergency Department of the Military Hospital To: • Implement CPR, ALS, and Advanced Trauma Management guidelines on the service • SRC Instructors attached to the ED to be the team leader during resuscitation • Continuous training program • Conduct researches to evaluate the impact of ERC (ALS & ETC) on service.

  21. Human Resuscitation Organization (Human Resus) • Founded by same SRC dedicated group and registered as NGO in Sudan. • Vision: To preserve human life. • Mission: To save human lives and improve the quality of survival; by improving the standard of knowledge, training and practice in the fields of resuscitation, trauma and disasters, through conducting internationally accredited life support courses (both basic and advanced) & smart partnership with emergency departments and educational institutes. • Human Resus in infancy stage of capacity building

  22. Future Plan • Decentralization of training. • Raising medical standards in remote areas through sustainable local facilities and implementing the European and International guidelines • Improved standard of care in resuscitation, trauma and life support care and disaster initial management. • Include non-health care providers as 1st aid and BLS for bystanders, police officers, fire fighters, school teachers, industry personnel to assure a wider impact. • Collaborate the standards and regulations of Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation, Trauma and Emergency management. • Conduct and publish scientific research with relevance to the above-mentioned fields. • To build the organization’s capacity by obtaining independent course equipment and logistics.
