Objectives of the course: • Aiming to promote liberal education through English to sophomore undergraduates, Broadcast News English adopts authentic broadcast materials in teaching to provide the learners with an authentic English environment. • Learners will be greatly motivated to know the world, enrich their knowledge and broaden their horizons through English and make English the their routine working language, thus a sustainable English acquisition mode can be achieved. • Apart from the textbook materials, learners are required to access the course website to update their knowledge, so as to achieve the above-mentioned objectives.

Content of the course • Content of the text-book: 15 units including politics, economy, culture, education, entertainment etc. 要求学生循序渐进地自学本书附带的三张CD光盘，或充分利用本书配套的网络资源，访问《新时代交互英语》的专用网站（http://www.neie.edu.cn）获取本书相应的音频视频资源进行自主学习 • Other supplementary materials • voa news • bbc news • cctv 9 news • …

Presentation • Group number: Work in groups of 3— an anchor, a reporter and 1 interviewee (people involved or outsider) • Form: News report + interview • Subject: the latest news happens in the week related to the subject of the unit • Time limit：5--10 min. • Criteria: • Clarity 2 • Pronunciation and intonation (imitate) 2 • Insight 2 • Interaction 2 • Attraction 2
