S1, S2 and S3 Focus Group. A selection of pupils from each year were asked their views. S1 settling into life at CHS. It was easy settling in. It was hard finding you way around the school. It was quite good that we got 7 days to settle in having buddies was good. Simple transition.

  1. S1, S2 and S3 Focus Group A selection of pupils from each year were asked their views.

S1 settling into life at CHS • It was easy settling in. • It was hard finding you way around the school. • It was quite good that we got 7 days to settle in having buddies was good. • Simple transition. • I was scared of being bullied but I haven’t been bullied. • The myths about high school are fake. • The clubs during school help.

  3. S2 Settling into new courses • It is great. • Courses are sometimes not what I thought. • More information on subject content. • Never got all the subjects I wanted.

  4. S3 Settling into new courses • Good subjects • Became friends with more people. • I'm sad when subjects reject me. • Exam pressure. • Lots of homework. • Its good that you only need to do subjects that you picked which are the ones you probably like most and are best at.

  5. S1, S2 and S3 Bullying • What type of bullying happens most? • Verbal – name calling • Cyber – over the internet, MSN, BBM. • Physical – hitting and punching. • Threats.

  6. Where does it happen most? • Corridors • Playground • Toilets • After school • Lunch hall • Face book, MSN, Twitter, Bebo, BBM,Texts. • Family parties • Away from teachers • Before registration and home time.

  7. Reporting bullying • People will call you a grass. • One persons idea of banter is another’s idea of bullying. • The bully will bully you more if you tell. If you don’t tell they will hurt you even more – if you do they will hurt you.

  8. Dealing with bullying • E room • Deal with it more privately • Consequences • Sometimes it doesn’t seem like it’s been dealt with • Bad if they don’t do anything about it.
