AI technicians in Germany German cattle breeding law Farmers andemployees on a farm A.I. technicians Free oremployeesfroma.i. companies 18y old Education in agriculture business Or other Education and a 6-month trainee on an A.I. stud 18y old Education in agriculture business 3-5 dayscourse Offeredbyseveral a.i. companies Education in one of the two education Centres: Dr. Dr. Eibl in Bavaria or I.F.N in Berlin (6 weeks cattle and pigs) (4 weeks cattle) Allowed to inseminate only the own cattle or only the cattle of his employer Allowed to inseminate on all farms! (pregnancy checks and ultrasound are regulated by the a.i. companies) Not allowed to flush or transmit embryos

Further education for a.i. technicians The certified a.i.technician (with master diploma) Embryotransfer technician Possible for: Farmers with final examination + visiting 1 year the agriculture school + 3 years working as a.i. technician Or without agriculture education: 6 years working as ai. Technician + Visiting the course „Master diploma“ (425 hours, 50 days, 8 weeks Over 2 years) Possible after 2 years working as a.i. technician 30 hours course (4 days) Education center Berlin Then allowed for: Pregnancy checks Flush cows Transmit embryos Allowed to transmit Embryos (no flushing)

  6. A.I. Techniciansfromother EU-countries • The German breeding law allows other EU-technicians to work in Germany only if they have an equal education as in Germany!
