DOK Differentiation Did you notice a pattern to the table? ______________________________________ Can you use your pattern to predict how many seconds it would take for n blocks to fall? ______________________________________ Using your data table, graph the and label the results from your experiment. Determine the type of function and explain your reasoning. ____________________________________________________________________________ Description and information goes here…. DOK 1 Can you identify the independent and dependent variable? Can you identify the constant? DOK 2 What do you notice about the relationship between keva intervals and the time it took to fall down? How would you summarize the results of the experiment? DOK 3 How would you adapt an experiment to create a different outcome? What facts would you select to support a faster/slower outcome? Can you elaborate on the reason why the intervals have an effect on the time it takes all the blocks to fall down? Can you create a formula for the line and describe the function shown on the graph? DOK 4 Design and conduct an experiment. Gather information to develop alternative explanations for the results of an experiment. What information can you gather to support your idea about the relationship of distances between keva planks and the time it took them to fall? • Each group is going to experiment with Keva planks. The purpose is to determine whether there is a linear connection between the number of planks and the time it takes for them to fall in a row simulating Dominos falling. • Materials: • Bag of Keva planks • Measuring tape/yard stick • Data table • Stop watch • Experiment • First begin by placing the Keva planks two inches apart. • Second, using constant intervals of 5 set up the planks.
